News from the Central Bank of Iceland
The Central Bank of Iceland has revised its inflation forecast for 1999 in the light of recent information about the development of consumer prices and underlying factors. The Central Bank now projects that consumer prices will rise by 3.0 percent between the averages of 1998 and 1999 and by 4.0 percent within the year 1999.

NYMEX Sets Daily Volume Records
Daily volume records were established on the New York Mercantile Exchange yesterday for total energy futures when 438,796 contracts were traded, surpassing the previous record of 436,583 contracts set on March 10, 1999 and for crude oil futures when 274,975 contracts were traded, exceeding the record 244,742 contracts set last week on July 14, 1999.

Bahrain Stock Exchange Securities & investment Research Weekly Report
The BSE index slipped by 0.6% while turnover decreased by over 80%, mainly because last week there was exceptionally high turnover due to deals relating to the BMB stock. Oman posted an impressive gain of 16%, Saudi Arabia was up 0.5%, Kuwait and UAE lost 0.8% respectively.

Co-operation agreement between the Lisbon Stock Exchange and PARISBOURSE SBF SA
PARISBOURSE SBF SA and the Lisbon Stock Exchange signed a co-operation agreement on Friday in Paris giving the members of the two markets direct access to the listed companies on each exchange.
