Joint Press Statement Of Leaders On Operating Principles And Areas Of Exploration In The Regulation Of The Cross-Border OTC Derivatives Market
The Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of International Affairs today released the following joint statement of leaders of regulatory authorities on the regulation of OTC derivatives markets:
Leaders of authorities with responsibility for the regulation of the over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives markets in Australia, Brazil, the European Union, Hong Kong, Japan, Ontario, Quebec, Singapore, Switzerland and the United States, met on November 28, 2012 to discuss reform of the OTC derivatives market as agreed by the leaders at the G-20 Pittsburgh Summit in September 2009.

Trading On The Warsaw Stock Exchange: November 2012
- Total trading in shares on the Main Market reached PLN 15.4 billion in November 2012 v. PLN 21.1 billion in November 2011.
- The incremental total volume in trading year to date was over PLN 186.9 billion, a decrease of 26.0% year on year.
- The volume of trading in all derivative instruments was 833 thousand in November 2012 v. 1.27 million in November 20111.)
- The volume of trading in index options nearly doubled (97.2%) in November 2012 year on year (92.7 thousand v. 47.0 thousand).
- The value of session trading on Catalyst was PLN 231.1 million at the end of November 2012, an increase of 239.3% year on year.
- The total volume of trading in electricity on the WSE markets (spot and forward transactions) was 22.5 TWh in November 2012, an increase of 43.1% year on year.

In November, a volume of 62.3 million tonnes of CO2 was traded on the European Energy Exchange (EEX) compared to 9.1 million tonnes of CO2 traded in November 2011.

ICE Reports 5% Decline In November Futures Volume - Up 10% YTD
IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), a leading operator of global markets and clearing houses, today reported futures volume for November 2012. ICE's average daily volume (ADV) for futures and options was 3,198,341 contracts, down 5% from the prior November. Year-to-date through November 30, ADV was 3,415,552 contracts, up 10% compared to the first eleven months of 2011. Total volume in November 2012 was 67.2 million contracts. All prior period contract volumes have been adjusted to include the converted futures contracts, which previously traded as swaps in ICE's OTC markets.
