FIA Statement On FOA Member Vote
The Futures Industry Association issued the following statement from FIA President and Chief Executive Officer Walt Lukken regarding the vote by the membership of the Futures and Options Association in favor of the proposed affiliation with FIA:
"I am very pleased that our proposed affiliation was approved by such an overwhelming majority of FOA members. Our two associations have worked hard to create a framework for greater cooperation and coordination that will give our membership a stronger voice globally while preserving a strong base in each region. I look forward to working with Anthony Belchambers and his colleagues at FOA as we move ahead with this initiative."

Portuguese Stock Exchange And AEM Announce Their Position On The Introduction Of A Financial Transaction Tax - Position Submitted To Portuguese Government
At the end of last week, NYSE Euronext Lisbon and AEM – Associação de Empresas Emitentes de Valores Cotados Em Mercado (Association of listed companies) submitted their common position to the Portuguese government, opposing the introduction in Portugal of a financial transaction tax (FTT).

Mercado de Valores de Buenos Aires Shareholders Approve The Creation Of Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos (B&MA)
At an Extraordinary Shareholders Meeting held on 27 June, the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange approved the creation of a new bourse, Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos SA, or B&MA. The B&MA will be incorporated as a stand alone company according to Boiurse President Mario Bagnardi. According to Mr. Bagnardi other exchanges may join B&MA later this year.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For iShares FTSE A50 China Index ETF Futures
Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Monday, 29 July 2013, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contract will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: Fund Management Business Records Strong Growth In 2012
The annual Fund Management Activities Survey (FMAS) released today by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) shows that the combined fund management business in Hong Kong rebounded significantly to a record high of $12,587 billion (Note 2) as of the end of 2012, representing year-on-year growth of 39.3%.
