CFTC Announces Departure Of Legislative Affairs Director John Riley - Acting Chairman Wetjen Appoints Ted Serafini Acting Director
Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Acting Chairman Mark P. Wetjen today announced that Legislative Affairs Director John Riley will depart the agency in May after a 30-year career in Federal service. Mr. Riley, a former Capitol Hill staffer, has led the Office of Legislative Affairs while Congress debated and passed landmark financial reform legislation and as the CFTC implemented its key provisions.

Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission Obtains Court Orders For GOME To Receive $420 Million Compensation From Founder And Wife Over Breaches In Share Repurchase
The Court of First Instance on 5 May 2014 granted orders sought by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) in its proceedings against the former Chairman of GOME Electrical Appliances Holding Limited (GOME), Mr Wong Kwong Yu and his wife, Ms Du Juan, a former director of GOME, for them to compensate GOME $420 million and interest for their breaches of directors’ duties in certain share repurchases GOME conducted between 22 January and 5 February 2008 (Share Repurchase).

Exceptionally Successful First Day Of Trading At TFEX With New System - SET Combines Derivatives And Equities Trading On Cinnober Technology
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and its derivative arm TFEX have successfully replaced their entire technology platform for derivatives trading and experienced their second-highest daily number of contracts traded ever, on the very first day of trading. This comes on the heels of a similar technology replacement for equities trading, which led to volume increases, leading low latency and state-of-the-art functionality.
