BlackRock: China Leading The Way In Commodities Demand – Will The US Pick Up The Baton?
BlackRock’s Catherine Raw, fund manager in the natural resources team, believes that commodities are set to make further progress as investors become more confident that the majority of the world economic crisis has passed. While mining equities having rallied in 2009 (up 61% in US dollar terms) valuations are still attractive, being around half what they were in May 2008.

Jasdaq Starts Using Osaka Securities Exchange's Trading System
Jasdaq Securities Exchange, Inc. (Jasdaq) today started using a trading system of Osaka Securities Exchange Co., Ltd. (OSE). At the same time, an operating system for equities products of OSE and Jasdaq have been shifted toward a system using the same distant trading continuity system as derivatives products of OSE.

Tokyo Grain Exchange: With The Suspension Of Trading Of Raw Silk Futures The Composition And Weight Of The TG Index Will Be Adjusted
As the last day of trading on the raw silk futures contract will be September 30, 2009, there will be a recalculation and recomposition of the TG Index.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index
Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Wednesday, September 23, 2009: The shares of Challenger Energy Corp. (TSXV:CHQ) will be removed from the index. The shares of the company have been acquired by Canadian Superior Energy Inc. (TSX:SNG) pursuant to an Arrangement Agreement. Shareholders of the company will receive 0.51 shares of SNG for each common share held.
