CFA Institute Centre Study Reveals Market Fragmentation Has Had No Material Impact On Price Formation - Investors Voice Concern Over Transparency, Trade Reporting Obligations And Dark Pools
A study released today by the CFA Institute Centre for Financial Market Integrity, the policy arm of CFA Institute, has found no empirical evidence to suggest market fragmentation has had any material impact on the quality of the price formation process for equities traded under the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) regime. The study was undertaken to establish whether the proliferation of new trading platforms under MiFID has affected transparency, costs and price formation

SGX Issues Technical Specifications To Brokers For Marking Of Short-Selling Orders
Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) today took another major step towards increased market transparency by making compulsory, marking of all shortselling orders. SGX has provided the technical specifications to its members to facilitate this effort. Value Of Straits Times Index Corrected - All Other FTSE ST Index Series Still May Not Fully Reflect Movement Of Respective Components
SGX STATEMENT Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) has been informed by FTSE Group, the index calculator, that it has rectified the inaccuracies in the computation of the Straits Times Index (STI). However, the other FTSE ST Index Series may still not fully reflect the movement in their respective components. FTSE Group is currently investigating the matter.
