CBOE April Average Daily Volume Up 6% Over Year Ago, 17% Over March - CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) Establishes Best Month Ever
The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today reported total trading volume of 111.4 million contracts for the month of April, a six-percent increase over 105.2 million contracts traded in April 2009. CBOE's average daily volume (ADV) for the month of April was 5.3 million contracts, up six percent from last April's ADV of 5.0 million contracts and up 17 percent from the March 2010 daily average of 4.5 million contracts.

April Is Busiest Month Ever At CFE: Trading Rises 536% Over 2009, Seventh Consecutive Month Of Year-Over-Year Volume Increases, VIX Futures Sets New Daily And Monthly Records
The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) today announced that April 2010 was the busiest trading month ever at the Exchange as a total of 296,541 contracts changed hands. For the month, April trading volume was up 536 percent when compared to 46,624 contracts in April 2009 and 36 percent above 217,429 contracts in March 2010.

AMF has checked with French asset management companies likely to invest in collateralised debt obligations (CDO). In light of the information it has gathered, it finds nothing to suggest they may have acquired Abacus 2007 AC 1, a CDO designed and marketed by Goldman Sachs and currently the subject of a complaint by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

MGEX Reports April Volume And Open Interest Growth
MGEX (Exchange), a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO), today reported April 2010 total volume of 118,290 contracts traded and open interest of 48,235. The April total volume is a 28 percent increase over March 2010 while April total open interest was up 60 percent over April 2009. The Options Clearing Corporation Announces Total Contract Volume In April Increased 12%
The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) announced today that total OCC volume reached 363,275,500 contracts in April. This represents an 11.79% percent increase over the April 2009 volume of 324,951,307 contracts. OCC year to date total volume is up 9.16% with 1,294,545,141 contracts.
