Thai Bourse’s Trading Activity In May
In May 2010, The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index was rather volatile and closed at 750.43, a 1.71% drop from the previous month due to concerns over Europe’s public debt crisis and domestic political unrest. However, the drop in the SET Index was small compared to regional markets, and was still 2.16% higher than the SET Index at end-2009. Market capitalization was at THB 6.09 trillion (USD 0.19 trillion), down in line with the SET Index's decline.

Net Profit Of Thai Listed Companies Grows 95% In First Quarter Over Year-Ago Period
Thai listed companies’ combined net profits in Q1/2010 of THB157.00 billion (USD 4.84 billion) were 95.35% more than in Q1/2009 due to increased revenues and effective cost control. In addition, increased revenue for four consecutive quarters indicated Thailand’s continuous economic recovery.

Ten Years Of European Energy Trading On The Exchange – The History Of EEX
European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) is celebrating ten years of energy trading on the exchange. In those ten years EEX has evolved from the “Leipzig power exchange” to one of the leading trading platforms for energy and related products in Europe. The starting signal for German power trading was given in Leipzig on 14 June 2000. On the first trading day, 1,836 megawatt hours (MWh) were traded – a modest trade volume from today’s perspective.

Jefferies Expands Asian Emerging Markets Sales Team
Jefferies announced today the addition of two professionals to its Fixed Income Emerging Markets sales and trading effort in Asia. Sandy Oh and Eng Keong Ong join as Senior Vice Presidents to focus on the sales and trading, respectively, of emerging markets debt to institutional investors throughout Asia. Both are based in Singapore.

Tokyo Commodity Exchange To Consider C-COM Oil Market Take Over
Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (“TOCOM”) today announced that the Exchange will consider establishing new markets on October 12, 2010, where the gasoline and kerosene contracts currently listed on Central Japan Commodity Exchange ("C-COM") will be traded. TOCOM was approached by C-COM on May 27, 2010 regarding the possible transfer of its oil market.
