Sıxth Meetıng Of The OIC Member States’ Stock Exchanges Forum Convened In Istanbul
The Sixth meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States’ Stock Exchanges Forum convened in Istanbul on September 26, 2012. The meeting, chaired by Mr. İbrahim M. TURHAN, İstanbul Menkul Kıymetler Borsası (İMKB) Chairman & CEO, was held within the framework of the mandate of developing the cooperation among the stock exchanges of the OIC member states, given by the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC). OIC Member States’ Stock Exchanges Forum was initiated in 2005, and has been coordinated by the İMKB since then. As a back-to-back event with the Forum, a seminar on Collateralization & Tri-Party Arrangements for Islamic Securities together with International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM) was held with the attendance of financial intermediaries, banks and Forum members.

Thai Bourse Readies New SET50 Options For Oct Launch
Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX), under The Stock Exchange of Thailand group is ready to start its modified SET50 Options on September 27, 2012 as it will not create the new series, expiring in September 2013 to reflect the upcoming changes.

CFTC Certifies S&P 500 Index Futures Contract Submitted By The Bolsa De Valores, Mercadorias E Futuros - Contract May Be Offered To U.S. Persons Through Direct Access Effective September 25, 2012
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Division of Market Oversight issued a letter advising the Bolsa de Valores, Mercadorias e Futuros (BVMF-Brazil) that its S&P 500 Index futures contract submitted for review on August 9, 2012, was deemed certified.

European Parliament - Banking Union: Economic Affairs Committee Starts Work On Supervision Proposals
The banking supervision legislation debated in detail in the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee on Wednesday was rather less warmly received than many other Commission proposals have been. MEPs nonetheless stressed the urgent need for it and pledged to strive to meet their tight deadline, whilst at the same time addressing the major hurdles in the way of strong EU bank supervision.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Futures Contracts
Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Wednesday, 3 October 2012, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company’s normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

Qatar Exchange Conducts Survey To Evaluate Listed Companies’ Investor Relations Efforts
Qatar Exchange (QE) has recently completed a detailed analysis of its listed companies’ investor relations (IR) practices. The survey, which was carried out over a period of three months and involved all forty-two listed companies, is part of QE’s ongoing commitment to develop investor relations (“IR”) between the listed companies and their investors and shareholders. The survey is expected to be done on a recurrent basis.
