Therese Walsh – Independent Director Of NZX Limited
Further to the announcement on 28 September 2012 of the appointment of Therese Walsh as an NZX Director, effective 1 February 2013, NZX Limited (NZX) advises, pursuant to NZSX Listing Rule (Rule) 3.3.3(b), that the board of directors have determined Therese Walsh to be an Independent Director of NZX, as that term is defined in the Rules.

ASIC: Former Hanlong Mining Executive Jailed For Insider Trading
Mr Bo Shi Zhu, also known as Calvin Zhu, the former Hanlong Mining Investment Pty Ltd (Hanlong Mining) vice-president who pleaded guilty to three counts of insider trading, was today sentenced to 2 years and 3 months jail.

Former Executives Of Stanford Financial Group Entities Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Roles In Fraud Scheme
Gilbert T. Lopez Jr., the former chief accounting officer of Stanford Financial Group Company, and Mark J. Kuhrt, the former global controller of Stanford Financial Group Global Management, were each sentenced today to 20 years in prison for their roles in helping Robert Allen Stanford perpetrate a fraud scheme involving Stanford International Bank (SIB). Both were convicted by a Houston federal jury on Nov. 19, 2012.

CME Group Announces Open Interest Record In Benchmark Light Sweet Crude Oil (WTI) Futures
CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, announced it reached a record in open interest for its global benchmark NYMEX Light Sweet Crude Oil (WTI) futures contracts yesterday, February 13, 2013. Open Interest for NYMEX WTI reached 1,665,014 contracts, compared to 1,664,400 on May 11, 2011, the last record for this contract.

FINRA Issues New Investor Alert: Duration—What An Interest Rate Hike Could Do To Your Bond Portfolio
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) issued a new Investor Alert called Duration—What an Interest Rate Hike Could Do to Your Bond Portfolio. FINRA is issuing this Alert to help investors understand the importance of duration risk. Although stated in years, duration is not simply a measure of time. The duration of a bond or a bond fund also signals how much the price of a bond investment is likely to fluctuate when interest rates move up or down.
