The Aequitas Neo Exchange Applies For Formal Approval With The Canadian Securities Administrators - OSC Staff Requests Comments On Aequitas Exchange Application
Aequitas Innovations Inc. (“Aequitas”) is pleased to announce that a formal exchange application for its new marketplace – the Aequitas Neo Exchange – has been filed with the Ontario Securities Commission (“OSC”) and the other securities regulators in Canada. In response to the application, the OSC has published a copy of the application for information and comments by all industry stakeholders. The deadline for comments to the OSC is Tuesday, August 26, 2014.

EBA Consults On Technical Standards On Countercyclical Buffer Disclosure
The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today public consultation on its draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) on disclosure of information related to the countercyclical capital buffer.These RTS will be part of the EU Single Rulebook aimed at enhancing regulatory harmonisation in the banking sector. The consultation runs until 27 September 2014.

Platts Report: China Oil Demand Fell 0.7% In May Versus A Year Ago - Gasoil, Fuel Oil Demand Contracted On Poor Fundamentals
China's apparent oil demand* in May dipped 0.7% compared with the same month last year to 39.92 million metric tons (mt) or an average 9.44 million barrels per day (b/d), a just-released Plattsanalysis of Chinese government data showed.

EBA Consults On Technical Standards On The Permanent And Temporary Uses Of The IRB Approach
The European Banking Authority (EBA) launched today a consultation on its draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) specifying the conditions for the permanent and temporary uses of theStandardised Approach (SA) by institutions that have received permission to use the Internal Ratings Based (IRB) Approach. The EBA has identified the use of the SA as a major driver in the comparability of credit risk capital requirements. These RTS will be part of the EU Single Rulebook aimed at enhancing regulatory harmonisation in the banking sector. The consultation runs until 26 September 2014.

FSB Workshop On Compensation Practices
The FSB organised in Paris on 1 April 2014 the second workshop on compensation practices to share experiences and lessons on the implementation of the FSB Principles and Standards for Sound Compensation Practices (P&S) by financial institutions. The workshop focused on three main areas: the identification and treatment of material risk takers (MRTs); the use of malus and clawback clauses as part of the alignment of compensation with risk taking and performance; and governance frameworks, including the role of compensation structures in supporting a sound risk and compliance culture at financial institutions. Officials from the FSB Compensation Monitoring Contact Group and nineteen senior executives mainly responsible for remuneration, primarily from global systemically important banks, participated in the workshop.

EBA Publishes Guidelines On Disclosure Of Encumbered And Unencumbered Assets
The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today its final Guidelines on disclosure of encumbered and unencumbered assets. They are the first step towards a harmonised disclosure framework of asset encumbrance in the EU and have been drafted in accordance with Recommendation D of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB).

Nigerian Stock Exchange Weekly Report For The Week Ended 27 June 2014
A turnover of 2.893 billion shares worth N30.027 billion in 30,650 deals were traded this week by investors on the floor of The Exchange in contrast to a total of 1.528 billion shares valued at N20.080 billion that exchanged hands last week in 26,820 deals.
