The market phenomenon dubbed the January Effect appears to be occurring at the Kansas City Board of Trade. Program Trading Averaged 15.5 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Dec. 20-23
The New York Stock Exchange today released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Dec. 20-23. The data indicated that during Dec. 20-23, program trading amounted to 15.5 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 861.5 million shares, or 133.8 million shares a day.

Eurex Sets New World Record In Trading Volume For The Year 1999 - Over 379 Million Contracts Traded In 1999 - Bund Future Is Highest-Volume Product With 144 Million Contracts Traded
The derivatives exchange Eurex reports a new world record in trading volume for the year 1999. According to preliminary figures, which comprise an estimate for the last exchange-trading day, 379 million contracts were traded this year as compared with 248 million contracts last year.
