- Today, once again, new issuers have been listed on three WSE markets: the Main List, the alternative stock market NewConnect, and the bond market Catalyst

Three new companies have been listed on the WSE markets on 18 May: PBO AnioĊa SA on the Main List, IN POINT SA on the alternative market NewConnect, and BBI Development NFI SA on the bond market Catalyst.
In total, 97 issuers have debuted on the WSE markets in 2011: 21 on the Main List, 61 on NewConnect, and 15 on Catalyst. Statistically, one new issuer has been floated on the WSE on every business day this year.
In addition to the shares of Polish and foreign companies, new derivative instruments have been listed on the WSE markets. Futures contracts on shares of GRUPA LOTOS SA were introduced to exchange trading on 17 May.
The WSE’s position on the European capital market is strengthening with steady, dynamic growth of all markets operated by the WSE. Extraordinary developments have taken place on the stock, bond, and derivatives markets in the first half of May.
NEWCONNECT
The value of trading on NC was PLN 24,362,529 on 10 May, which was only PLN 100 thousand less than the record-high daily value of NC trading reported on 20 September 2010.
A NewConnect listed company was one of the top 20 most traded stocks for the first time in a long time on 11 May. With a turnover of PLN 11.41 million, Balticon SA ranked 18th among all stocks listed on the WSE markets.
CATALYST
Bonds of Ronson Europe N.V. were listed on Catalyst on 16 May. The company’s stock has been on the WSE Main List since 5 November 2007.
DERIVATIVE INSTRUMENTS
The daily volume of trading in individual stock futures contracts at 4,889 contracts on 6 May broke a new record. The previous record-high volume was reported more than two years ago: 4,814 contracts on 18 February 2009.
This has been yet another record on the market in 2001 after the record-high monthly turnover at 70,648 contracts in March, best proof of the growing importance and popularity of the instrument.
