Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) today announced that they are participating in a three city Latin American roadshow.
Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange have joined capital markets professionals from KPMG, Heenan Blaikie and Scotiabank in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Santiago, Chile, and Bogota, Colombia for the KPMG Roadshow. The Exchanges are holding seminars and one-on-one meetings with representatives from companies in the oil and gas and mining sectors to raise awareness about the Canadian capital markets.
“We are very pleased to once again visit Latin America,” said Ungad Chadda, Senior Vice President, Toronto Stock Exchange. “We welcome the opportunity to provide an overview regarding the benefits of listing on our Exchanges to companies from the region.”
There are currently five Brazilian-based companies, six Colombian-based companies and one Chilean-based company listed on TSX and TSXV. As of April 30, 2012, there are 20 Latin American companies listed on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange with a combined market capitalization of $13.6 billion. 1.8 billion shares were traded in these companies in 2011.
