The TMX Information Processor, operated by TSX Inc., today announced that it is now receiving data from all Canadian equity marketplaces and that it has finalized all requirements needed to launch.
Through the TMX Information Processor, clients will be able to connect to a single source of consolidated Canadian equity market data from all Canadian equity marketplaces that trade Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange listed securities. In June 2009, the Canadian Securities Administrators designated TSX Inc. to act as Information Processor for equity securities for five years.
"We are very pleased to have established our role as the CSA-mandated Information Processor for Canadian equities," said Eric Sinclair, President, TMX Datalinx and Group Head of Data Services. "We believe the benefits of having a single access point for obtaining Canadian consolidated data will translate into reduced connection costs for market participants as well as improved market efficiency and integrity."
The TMX IP products include:
- Consolidated Data Feed (CDF™) Provides full order and trade data for all Canadian visible marketplaces and post trade data for dark pools. Each participating marketplace can be accessed as a separate multicast feed in a common format, allowing clients to obtain data from one or more markets to meet their specific requirements.
- Canadian Best Bid and Offer (CBBO®) Provides data for the best bids and offers for all visible Canadian equity securities that require consolidation. The CBBO also offers marketplace identifiers and aggregate volume for the highest bid price and lowest offer price for each security.
- Consolidated Last Sale Feed (CLS™) Provides real time last sale data from Canadian equity marketplaces including dark pools. Information provided includes symbol, volume, price, trade number, order number, broker number, time of transaction and marketplace identifier.
- Consolidated Depth of Book (CDB™) Provides a single consolidated view of the order book by price and visible marketplace for all Canadian equity securities requiring consolidation.
