Equities
The Spanish Exchange turnover in Equities reached €70.38bn in October, up 44% on September and down 10% on the same month a year earlier. The trading volume in the Spanish Stock Exchange was €599.48bn to the end of October, down 24.8% on the same period last year.
The number of equity trades in October reached 2.7 million, up 10% from the previous month and down 31% on the same month a year earlier. The number of trades in the first ten months of the year totalled 36.2 million, down 8.6% year-on-year.
The trading volume posted by the ETF segment to October was 19.8% down on the same period in 2011, at €2.41bn. The trading volume on the ETF segment reached €185 million in October, down 32% and 65% from September 2012 and October 2011, respectively.
In October the number of trades reached 3,648, up 14% on the same period in 2011.The number of trades from January to October reached 49,040, up 31% on the same period last year.
Futures and Options
In October trading on BME’s Derivatives Market, MEFF, came in at 4.63 million contracts, up 42% from the same period a year earlier.The number of contracts traded in the first ten months of the year was 56.98 million, up 6% from the same period in 2011.
Futures on Stocks turnover in October reached 1.95 million contracts, three times higher from October 2011. Trading in Index Futures in October, at 436,422 contracts, increased three times from the same period last year.
Warrants and Certificates
The number of warrants admitted to trading to the end of October was 6,581. The trading volume in October on this market came in at €51,5million, 62% down from the same period last year. The volume to the end of October came in at €685 million, down 51% from 2011.
In the first ten months the number of trades came in at 177,030, down 31% from the same month a year earlier while the figure for October totalled 14,127 trades, down 48% from October 2011.
Fixed Income
Corporate Debt trading in October was €347.78bn, up 64% from September but down 25% from the same month in 2011. The number of trades in this market in October reached 78,758, up 33,8% from the same period a year earlier.
New issues in the first tenth months totalled €290.79 billion, up 37,8% from the same period last year. In September new issues came in at €8.37 billion, down 76.41% year on year.
The outstanding balance at the end of October was €876.76bn, up 1.95% from last month.
