The Spanish Exchange today began to trade 142 new warrants issued by Banco Santander Central Hispano. The incorporation of these issues brings the total figure of warrants listed so far this year to a record high of 3,083.
The warrants issued by Banco Santander Central Hispano are linked to a wide range of strike prices on underlying assets as domestic and foreign shares and indices and exchange rates.
93 warrants were issued on Spanish shares linked to the following underlying assets: Abertis, Acerinox, ACS, Altadis, BBVA, Endesa, Gamesa, Gas Natural, Iberdrola, Inditex, Indra, Banco Popular, Repsol, SCH, Sogecable, Telefónica and Zeltia
As regards foreign shares, 31 warrants were issued on Alcatel, Apple, Cisco System, Deutsche Telekom, E.ON, France Telecom, Microsoft, Nokia and Total Fina.
As to the warrants on indices, 8 were issued on the IBEX 35® index and 2 on the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
As to exchange rates, 4 issues were made on the Euro / Dollar and 4 on the Euro /Yen.
Among the issues are call and put warrants, which are American style, with expiry dates in June and September 2007. All of them are American style, that is, they are exercised automatically on the expiry date.
The incorporation of these issues brings the total amount of listed warrants to 2,608.
