The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) together with Thai brokers, attracted over 300 investors in an ASEAN Trading Link opening event today by holding a panel discussion on "Knowing each other...top-pick ASEAN stocks” to give insights into ASEAN investment, with key executives from Bursa Malaysia Berhad and Singapore Exchange presenting their market overview and blue-chip stocks.
SET also announced that another six Thai brokers will join in ASEAN Trading Link by January 2013 for a total 15 brokers, on top of the current nine brokers which have already offered the trading via the regional connectivity since Oct 15, 2012.
SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira said "Connecting to ASEAN Trading Link is the starting point of making trading in the region faster and more convenient. Today’s event was also another significant chance for Thai investors to discover opportunities in other ASEAN stock exchanges, underlining SET's commitment to match the right financial opportunities for investors and Thai listed companies, and to boost business chance for Thai brokers."
The six brokers which will be ready to offer trading service via ASEAN trading Link within January 2013 are Asia Plus Securities pcl, Capital Nomura Securities pcl, DBS Vickers Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Kasikorn Securities pcl, OSK Securities (Thailand) pcl, and Tisco Securities Co., Ltd..
The current nine brokers participating in the ASEAN Trading Link are Country Group Securities pcl, Finansia Syrus Securities pcl, KGI Securities (Thailand) pcl, Krungsri Securities pcl, KT Zmico Securities Co., Ltd., Maybank Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) pcl, Thanachart Securities pcl, SCB Securities Co., Ltd., and UOB Kayhian Securities (Thailand) pcl.
