The total index (TEDPIX) of Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) closed at 65720 point at the end of September 2013, with 73 percent growth from the beginning of the year. TSE’s blue-chip index (TEDFIX 30) also gained more than 52 percent in the last nine months, and closed at 3268.8.
At the end of September 2013, total number of listed companies at TSE amounted 314, which is 2 less than the number at the end of June, due to their transferring to Iran Farabourse (SMEs Exchange).
TSE’s entire equity market capitalization jumped about 32.8 percent in the quarter and stood at IRR 3,203,549 billion. The figure is about 85 percent more than the Exchange’s market capitalization at the year’s beginning.
The total trading value at the equity market in the third quarter of 2013 leaped more than 470 percent, comparing the same period last year, and the trading volume of the quarter soared three times than the 3rd quarter last year. About 49.7 billion shares and rights were traded in the third quarter 2013 at the total value of roughly IRR 232 trillion. These were executed in almost 4.1 million transactions.
During the last quarter, TSE’s SSF market was revitalized by a change in its trading system with IRR 2 billion trading at 73 contracts. There was no trading in the market during the second quarter this year.
