With a total volume of 1,154,482 contracts, accounting for more than 1.154 billion dollars, ROFEX reached a new record in its financial derivatives intraday volume ranking, boosted by dollar futures trading.
Traded volume surpassed by 50 per cent the last record registered on May 5, when slightly over 760 million dollars were traded in financial derivatives.
The significant trading volume was accompanied by a price fall of around 0.12 and 0.17 per cent in most US dollar futures traded positions.
The new record was set in the month in which gold futures began to be traded in ROFEX. This contract is the first of its kind in Argentina and it has experienced an outstanding performance throughout November.
With only one trading session left until the end of the month, traded volume throughout this period at ROFEX´s Financial Derivatives Division already surpassed by 12 per cent the volume traded in the same month of 2009, when 4,670,215 contracts were registered.
These results point out the increasing demand for financial futures trades in our country, positioning ROFEX as the leading market in financial derivatives in Argentina.
