The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) announced today the results of the quarterly evaluation of the NASDAQ Q-50 Index (Nasdaq:NXTQ), which will become effective prior to market open on Monday, December 19, 2011.
The following sixteen securities will be added to the Index: ARM Holdings plc (Nasdaq:ARMH), BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (Nasdaq:BMRN), FLIR Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:FLIR), Fortinet, Inc. (Nasdaq:FTNT), Illumina, Inc. (Nasdaq:ILMN), LKQ Corporation (Nasdaq:LKQX), Liberty Media Corporation (Nasdaq:LMCA), Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:MDRX), NII Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq:NIHD), NetEase.com, Inc. (Nasdaq:NTES), Patterson Companies, Inc. (Nasdaq:PDCO), Panera Bread Company (Nasdaq:PNRA), Royal Gold, Inc. (Nasdaq:RGLD), Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq:SNPS), Urban Outfitters, Inc. (Nasdaq:URBN), and Verisk Analytics, Inc. (Nasdaq:VRSK).
The Index is designed to track the performance of the 50 securities that are next in line to replace the securities currently included in the NASDAQ-100 Index®. As a result of the evaluation, the following fourteen securities will be removed from the Index: Acme Packet, Inc. (Nasdaq:APKT), Avago Technologies Limited (Nasdaq:AVGO), Dendreon Corporation (Nasdaq:DNDN), Focus Media Holding Limited (Nasdaq:FMCN), Fossil, Inc. (Nasdaq:FOSL), Rangold Resources Limited (Nasdaq:GOLD), Hansen Natural Corporation (Nasdaq:HANS), Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq:HGSI), Nuance Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:NUAN), ON Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq:ONNN), Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq:PLCM), Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq:PTEN), SXC Health Solutions Corp. (Nasdaq:SXCI) and Pharmasset, Inc. (Nasdaq:VRUS).
