Since establishment in 2004, Murray & Company has developed an investment banking division which specialises in corporate advisory, M & A and capital raising. The company has been an NZX Sponsor since 2005.
More recently, Murray & Company has expanded by establishing a wealth management division and has gained accreditation as an NZX Advising Firm for that division.
Managing Director of Murray & Company, Justin Murray, said, “In the current climate of uncertainty, investors are re-evaluating their requirements. Many investors are seeking a high level of personal attention from an Adviser, and a portfolio that is managed in close co-operation with them.
“As a consequence, we are seeking to recruit further talented investment advisers to augment our growing wealth management practice,” said Murray.
“An NZX Advising Firm accreditation is important for us as it shows our clients that we have a rigorous culture of compliance and that we support a stronger regulatory environment in New Zealand; we also think that it is important to maintain a securities market environment that is in line with international best practice,” said Murray.
An NZX Advising Firm can advise clients about securities listed on any of the markets provided by NZX and bring, underwrite and distribute new issues of securities in any of the markets provided by NZX.
NZX Markets Development Manager, Geoff Brown, said, “This year we have seen firms joining the NZX Advising Firm network with specialised business models such as Murray & Company.
“It is positive to see organisations recognising the benefits of NZX Accreditation, which we believe brings increased credibility to accredited firms and increased confidence to investors through a strong regulatory and oversight regime.”
