The Republic of Iraq, through its Ministry of Finance, has listed US$1bn notes on the Main Securities Market (MSM) of the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE). The notes carry a 6.752% interest rate and mature in 2023.
Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait among other Middle East sovereign issuers
The Republic of Iraq’s debut listing on the ISE follows a number of other sovereign issuers from the Middle East choosing an ISE listing to access European investors including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
ISE lists over 30,000 debt securities from 85 countries
The ISE is one of the world’s leading exchanges for listing bonds. At the end of July 2017 the ISE had over 30,000 debt securities listed representing over 85 countries around the world. The ISE offers two markets for listing debt, the Global Exchange Market (GEM) and the Main Securities Market (MSM).
