FX Alliance Inc. ("FXall") (NYSE: FX - News), the world's leading electronic foreign exchange platform, has appointed James Watson as Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) starting April 10. Watson is an electronic trading and technology veteran with 30 years of experience in the banking, interdealer broker and technology vendor space.
James Watson joins FXall from Morgan Stanley where he was Executive Director of Sales, for Equity Electronic Products. Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Watson held a variety of leadership positions in electronic execution sales at Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking and Lehman Brothers. He was also Global Head of Sales and Support at GFI Group, where he was responsible for managing the FENICS FX options business, following its acquisition. Mr. Watson's prior experience comprised sales leadership positions at various technology companies, including Bridge/Telerate and Reuters America. He has a business administration degree from Canberra Institute of Technology.
After more than a decade with FXall, Mark Warms is leaving the company. Mark was an important member of the team that built the original business plan and launched FXall. The foundation he helped build will continue although his expertise and insight will be missed.
James Watson will report to Jim Kwiatkowski, who has now been promoted to Global Head of Sales, as his scope of responsibility now includes EMEA, Americas and Asia. James Kwiatkowski joined FXall in March 2007 as Head of Sales, Americas and added responsibility for Asia in January 2010. Before joining FXall, Mr. Kwiatkowski held senior management positions at several financial technology companies including FutureTrade, Bridge/Telerate and Reuters.
