A much greater level of optimism about recruitment prospects in the financial services sector has been revealed in a survey by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
Sixty per cent of financial services players who took part in the survey, carried out on the Institute website, believe their firms will increase their headcount in the next year.
The findings are:- 43 per cent of respondents believe staff numbers at their company will rise by up to 5 percent
- 9 per cent expect to see a 6 to 10 per cent increase
- 8 per cent forecast a jump of more than 11 per cent.
However, four out of ten practitioners believe there will be either a freeze or decline in the level of employment at their company.
CISI chief executive Simon Culhane FCSI said: “this provides further evidence that the worst is over for the industry but that we are in for a slow climb out of recession.”
