During April 2014,The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) hosted 2 universities' trade simulation models, the first is COMET 11 th stock market model of the faculty of commerce of Cairo university and the second is Misr International University (MIU) 9th stock market model (SMS) with the participation of nearly 300 students from the two universities at EGX's Smart Village location for the first time in EGX's history, and sponsored by its educational simulation program (Stock Riders).
Through those models, students were divided into groups including investors, brokerage firms, investment banks and mutual funds, where they were trained practically on trading shares and mechanisms to deal with investment banks, funds and brokers.
COMET and MIU organizers praised this initiative provided by EGX that helped them to approach significantly from the real market, therefore to maximize the benefits achieved from those models.
In a related context, Dr. Mohammed Omran, EGX Chairman stressed that the Exchange management welcomes all educational? initiatives for practical training on stock market mechanisms which came within EGX plan to develop the investment awareness and to support students' activities organized annually in the various Egyptian universities about trading in the stock exchange.
It's worth mentioning that EGX hosted Cairo University trading model (COMET) in the period from 16 to 19 of April 2014, and hosted MIU SMS model on 30 April 2014.
