From today onwards, the company logo of the EuropeanEnergy Exchange (EEX) will illuminate two sides of the City-Hochhaus, which has been the EEX company headquarters in Leipzig since 2008.
“We are very pleased that EEX is now easily visible to the public. We are shaping the European energy markets from Leipzig and this facade advertising on the City-Hochhaus strengthens the perception of EEX. This move also clearly shows our strong ties to the site in Leipzig”, explains Peter Reitz, Chief Executive Officer of EEX.
The logos were installed by Neontechnik Elektroanlagen Leipzig GmbH (NEL) at a height of 120 metres. Each logo is 9.5 m long, 4.25 m high and consists of twelve light boxes with 504 LEDs each.
Since its establishment in 2000, EEX has evolved from a local power exchange to a leading energy trading platform in Europe. The EEX Group employs more than 320 employees, 168 of whom work in Leipzig. Overall, EEX is represented at eleven sites, including London, Paris, Brussels and Milan. At present, EEX rents five floors at the City-Hochhaus in Leipzig. Last year, the tenancy agreement for the current floors was extended until 2024.
