The European Energy Exchange (EEX) has officially been approved as Registered Reporting Mechanism by the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) on 11 September 2015. EEX will also serve as RRM for other exchanges of the EEX Group: Gaspoint Nordic and Powernext. The authorisation as an RRM is a prerequisite for offering data reporting services to market participants in the context of the Regulation on Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT).
From 7 October onwards, all orders submitted to and transactions concluded on an Organised Market Place (OMP) such as the exchanges of EEX Group will have to be reported to ACER. EEX Group will support their trading participants in fulfilling these obligations by offering data reporting services as of this date. All reports on the markets of EEX, Powernext and Gaspoint Nordic will be conducted through a single technical infrastructure.
With this step, EEX Group contributes to enhancing transparency in the energy wholesale markets while reducing the complexity and operating expenses for their customers.
