In addition, the Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Börse, Dr. Werner G. Seifert, will be leaving the Company immediately. Breuer has been asked to identify a successor for Seifert and to present this person for appointment by the Supervisory Board. Seifert's successor shall be recruited from outside the Company. Until an appointment occurs, Chief Financial Officer Mathias Hlubek will be coordinating the Executive Board.
By the end of this year, Breuer will resign from the Supervisory Board and hand over his responsibilities to a successor. Commenting on the announcement, Breuer said: "The decisions to change to the Supervisory and Executive Boards we are announcing today were taken after extensive consultation with shareholders of the Company. In the interest of the Company we want to put an end to the recent debate with some of our shareholders. Accordingly, we urge all shareholders to vote as recommended by the Supervisory and Executive Boards in the upcoming AGM on 25 May 2005."
