Trading volume for this week totaled more than 17.89 million option contracts, and open interest stood at 194.3 million contracts at the start of trading this morning.
Trading volume at CBOE in 2005 was a record-setting 468.2 million contracts, with average daily volume of 1.86 million contracts -- 30% higher than 2004. Through the first three months of 2006, year-to-date average daily volume at CBOE stood at 2.5 million contracts, 46% ahead of 2005's pace.
