Börse Berlin´s both market places, Xontro and Equiduct, together achieved a turnover of €19.6 billion in the first three months of 2015, an increase of about 19% compared to the first quarter 2014 (€16.5 billion). The number of trades rose by 13% to 2.45 million (Q1/2014: 2.77 million).
Berlin, 1st April 2015. In broker-aided Xontro turnover added up to €1.9 billion, a decrease of almost 30% compared to the first quarter of 2014 (€2.7 billion). On the other hand the number of trades increased significantly by 55% to 73,221 (Q1/2014: 47,390). The opposing development of turnover and number of trades can be explained by the change of investors´ preferences. During the last months they rather traded equities, funds and ETFs instead of bonds.
Trading activities on the Pan-European market Equiduct also developed quite well. After €13.8 billion in Q1 2014, €17.7 billion were traded in the first quarter of 2015, an increase of 28%. The number of trades rose by 12.5%, from 2.4 million to 2.7 million.
