The British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) yesterday announced the appointments of Peter Brady as Director of Enforcement, and Mark Wang as Director of Capital Markets Regulation.
“I look forward to continuing to work with Peter and welcome Mark as part of the executive team at the BCSC,” said Paul Bourque, Executive Director of the BCSC. “Peter brings valuable industry experience gained in the private sector and at the Commission, and Mark possesses a wealth of knowledge in all areas of capital markets regulation.”
Brady was most recently the Director of Corporate Finance for the BCSC. Previously, he was General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for Qtrade Financial Group, where he provided legal advice to the company’s investment dealer and mutual fund businesses. Prior to joining Qtrade, he worked as Senior Enforcement Counsel for the BCSC and practiced securities law at a public company and in private practice. Brady holds a law degree from the University of Victoria, and a B.A. (Honours) from Queen’s University.
Wang joined the BCSC in 2001 as a Compliance Officer, becoming Manager of Self- Regulatory Organization Oversight in 2005 before transferring to the position of Manager, Legal Services in 2007. Prior to his time at the BCSC, Wang worked as an associate at the firm of Borden Ladner Gervais. He holds a law degree from the University of Toronto, and a B.A. from the University of Victoria.
