Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) sponsored NYIT-Abu Dhabi “Corporate Challenge 2014” which took place in NYIT Abu Dhabi campus on the 23rd of November. The case study, based on Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and prepared by NYIT School of Management faculty members, challenged the student teams to address the subject of “Investor Education and Its Importance in UAE Stock Markets.”
The Corporate Challenge is a competition where student groups perform field work on a case study prepared by The School of Management and a local financial organization. The case study is relevant to emerging issues in business and addresses an ongoing project provided by the local organization. This is the first time that
The fifteen teams partaking in the competition, made up of NYIT’s master’s-level business administration students, learned the case thoroughly and devised plans of action. The teams presented their analyses and recommendations in front of Mr. Rashed Al Balooshi, Chief Executive of ADX and a panel of faculty judges. Dr. Ahmad Tabbara, Executive Director, NYIT Abu Dhabi, Dr. Gantasala V. Prabhakar, Assistant Dean, School of Management and SOM Faculty graced the occasion.
At the end of the competition, ADX Chief Executive thanked NYIT for its efforts in organizing the event, and later presented the Challenge winners with trophies in recognition of their achievement as well as certificates for the participating teams.
Commenting on the distinctiveness of the challenge, Mr. Al Balooshi explained that these students, tomorrow’s business leaders, will be better prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing business environment, and that working with NYIT on the Corporate Challenge is the perfect opportunity for ADX to tap into some of the brightest minds across the UAE as ADX seeks real-life solutions to issues facing the financial industry.
