FTSE Group (“FTSE”) confirms today that international energy services company Wood Group (WG.L), UK commercial television network ITV (ITV.L), and independent financial services provider Hargreaves Lansdown (HRGV.L) will be joining the FTSE 100 Index. In the rebalance, Bunzl (BNZL.L), Alliance Trust (ATST.L), and African Barrick Gold (ABGL.L) will leave the UK’s leading index and enter the FTSE 250 Index.
These changes are part of the impartial reviews that ensure the UK indices remain an accurate reflection of the market they represent. They are seen as an essential component to the running of the indices and are approved by the independent FTSE Europe, Middle East and Africa Regional Committee.
The FTSE 250 Index will see the following changes:

All changes from this review will be implemented at the close of business Friday, 18 March 2011 and take effect from the start of trading on Monday, 21 March 2011.
