NYSE Euronext (NYX) today announced the Wed., April 2 listing of Credit Suisse’s first two ELEMENTS Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs) on NYSE Arca.
ELEMENTS Credit Suisse Global Warming Index ETN (NYSE Arca: GWO): Based on the Credit Suisse Global Warming Index, the Global Warming ELEMENTS ETN is intended to offer exposure to stocks of companies that have an increased focus on products or services related to minimizing global warming.
ELEMENTS MLCX Precious Metals Index ETN (NYSE Arca: PMY): This ELEMENTS ETN is based on the MLCX Precious Metals Index, which is designed to provide a benchmark for the precious metals sector, including four physical commodities: gold, silver, platinum and palladium.
ELEMENTS ETNs are designed to track the total return of specific market indexes and seek to provide convenient access to strategies and markets that have not been readily available to individual investors. ELEMENTS ETNs are brought to the market through industry-wide relationships among index providers, investment grade issuers, distributors and securities exchanges. Credit Suisse will issue these two ELEMENTS ETNs and they will be distributed by Nuveen Investments and Merrill Lynch.
