TSX Group Inc. (TSX:X), operator of Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange, will hold an information session today in Denver at the Grand Hyatt Denver Downtown.
The event will begin with the Keynote Luncheon at noon, featuring remarks from the CEO of TSX Group Richard Nesbitt regarding the 2007 US business development campaign and why over 110 US companies have chosen TSX and TSX-Venture as a listing destination. Presentations by George Glasier, President and CEO of Energy Fuels Resources, and Brian Bullock, CEO of Intermap Technologies, will follow. As leaders of Colorado-based companies, the two presenters will speak on the reasons behind their decisions to list with a TSX Group exchange and the consequent benefits. The luncheon will be followed by the Going Public Workshop from 2PM to 5PM and a networking reception. Registrations to attend may be submitted online at www.tsx.com/usa.
TSX Group is a world leading market for resource equities and small cap public companies. TSX Group exchanges are the site of 80% of the total number of mining equity financing deals, representing half of all mining equity capital raised in 2006, and list nearly 60% of global public mining companies. As such, they provide optimal market capitalization opportunities for Colorado’s active mining sector. TSX Group is also home to over 50% of the world’s public oil and gas companies, and is the listing destination for many small cap companies in all industry sectors.
After Denver, the US business development campaign will continue to Houston (June 26), Dallas (June 28) and other cities across the US to be announced in the near future. The campaign focuses on increasing awareness among small to medium enterprises regarding opportunities to list on TSX and TSX Venture Exchange, both markets that balance a well-reputed regulatory structure with flexibility designed to foster and support growth for small to mid cap companies. Each information session will outline the prominence of TSX Group as the purveyor of a leading international resource equities market and its expertise in financing, mentoring and supporting small cap companies. The sessions will also feature CEOs of local companies addressing how listing on a TSX Group exchange has impacted operations and financing initiatives.
