The sixth edition of the EDHEC Research Day will take place on June 21, 2012 in London, at the Guoman Tower Hotel. This year, the conference programme will be articulated around the main theme: The Unintended Consequences of Banking and Financial Regulation.
The morning will be broken down into three plenary sessions, during which professors, research engineers from EDHEC Business School, and professionals will present key current research themes:
- Evaluating the Economics Effects of a Financial Transaction Tax
- Is There a Cost to Regulation Flip/Flops? An Asset (Pricing and) Allocation Perspective
- Financial and Banking Regulation: What have Previous International Experiences Shown Us?
These plenary sessions will close with a roundtable bringing together professionals, representatives of regulatory bodies and members of the EDHEC faculty around the theme: The Desirability of Reinforcing Regulation in order to Improve the Way Capital Markets and the Economy Function.
The afternoon will present recent research on similar topics in financial analysis, economics and law, presented by the researchers involved and the closing session will provide an economic focus on the public debt crisis: Social and Labour Policy Reactions to High Public Debt: Past Experiences and Future Prospects for Business and Finance.
Attendance at the EDHEC Research Day 2012 conference is free of charge and participants are welcome to attend all sessions.
