The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has continuously supported small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), new entrepreneurs, and social enterprises by recently setting up a new and unique learning center in Bangkok to equip these groups with practical knowledge with the first curriculum, so called “STARTUP Fundamental Course” to be launched on April 24, enabling them to grow along with the country’s new industry structure, as part of the government’s efforts to drive economic growth.
SET President Kesara Manchusree stated, “To enhance Thai businesses and the country towards sustainable growth according to the government’s economic policy, SET has been taking a leading role in developing professional personnel for the business sector. This year one of our priorities is to cultivate SMEs, start-ups and SEs and we have finalized the idea of setting up an enterprise learning center, underlining SET’s key strategic plan to groom these entrepreneurs to become the country’s economic drivers.”
The first curriculum is “STARTUP Fundamental Course,” jointly organized by SET and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), developing a special curriculum for start-ups covering the fundamentals, requirements, business process and how to manage a start-up business, particularly the chance to learn from successful start-up entrepreneurs as role models.
Apart from this curriculum, SET and alliances have lined up intensive start-up courses to support practical knowledge for start-ups to become successful and sustainable. SET continues to enhance the quality of the Thai capital market in all dimensions and for all stakeholders, especially promoting knowledge and expertise to listed companies and investors, leading towards sustainability.
The “STARTUP Fundamental Course” will be organized on April 24, 2016 at the new SET building in Bangkok. Among the well-known speakers are Patai Padungtin, president of the Thailand Tech Start-up Association and Kittinan Anuphan, the founder of “Claim Di” application who will share their valuable experiences.
