As part of QSE social responsibility and educational efforts, Mr. Rashid bin Ali Al-Mansoori, CEO of Qatar Stock Exchange, gave a lecture at Carnegie Mellon University, entitled ''The Role of Financial Markets in boosting investments and economic growth''.
In the lecture, the Mr. Al-Mansoori, outlined a plan to help diversify the Qatar economy by encouraging small and medium sized companies, as well as local family-owned businesses—to participate in the QSE. During a talk at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar on Tuesday afternoon, Al-Mansoori suggested that the QSE is a good resource for local companies looking to grow.
Al-Mansoori also urged students attending the presentation to pursue entrepreneurship as a career: “Think of how you can contribute. Make a plan, start your own business and be your own boss.”
The presentation was part of the CMU-Q Dean’s Lecture Series, a forum that hosts prominent industry leaders and government officials to share their expertise on topical issues. Al Mansoori spoke to more than 200 guests, including students, faculty, community and business leaders.
