The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., a subsidiary of NYMEX Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:NMX), announced today that it set daily volume records for RBOB futures and crude oil options on the CME Globex electronic trading platform yesterday.
The RBOB futures contract reached a record 111,751 contracts, exceeding the 107,430 contracts traded on May 29.
Crude oil options reached 5,674 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 3,296 contracts set on July 11.
NYMEX launched its physically settled futures contracts for trading on CME Globex during regular open outcry trading hours on September 5, 2006, following its initial offering of financially settled, standard-sized and NYMEX miNY energy futures contracts for trading on CME Globex on June 12, 2006. On December 4, 2006, NYMEX introduced full-sized and COMEX miNY metals futures contracts for side by side trading. Options trading on CME Globex was launched on June 25.
