As of November 22, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.54% in November, closing at 11178.58. Stock market indexes in Europe fell while Asia and globally indexes were up in November, according to preliminary monthly figures from global index provider, Dow Jones Indexes.
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.54% in November, closing at 11178.58. Year-to-date, the index is up 7.20%.
- The Dow Jones Europe Index fell 1.47% in November to 265.48. So far this year, the index is up 0.47%.
- The Dow Jones Asian Titans 50 Index rose 2.27% in November to 138.78. So far this year, the index is up 3.36%.
- The Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index rose 0.08% in November, closing at 170.86. Year-to-date, the index is down 1.61%.
NOVEMBER 2010 Sector Winners and Losers
- In the U.S., the Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Index was the biggest winner in November, posting a 6.65% gain. The Dow Jones U.S. Utilities Index posted the biggest loss, dropping 1.45%.
- In Europe, the Dow Jones Europe Basic Materials Index posted the biggest gain, climbing 2.60%. The Dow Jones Europe Financials Index had the sharpest decline, falling 5.18%.
- In Asia, the Dow Jones Asia/Pacific Technology Index posted the biggest gain, rising 4.24%. The Dow Jones Asia/Pacific Utilities Index posted the biggest loss, down 2.00%.
- Globally, the Dow Jones World Automobiles & Parts Titans Index had the best performance, climbing 7.05%. The Dow Jones World Utilities Titans Index posted the biggest loss, dropping 2.77%.
