Statement By The President Of The USA On Executive Order “Blocking The Property Of Certain Persons Engaging In Significant Malicious Cyber-Enabled Activities”
Today, I issued an Executive Order that provides a new authority to respond to the threat posed by malicious cyber actors. Cyber threats pose one of the most serious economic and national security challenges to the United States, and my Administration is pursuing a comprehensive strategy to confront them. As we have seen in recent months, these threats can emanate from a range of sources and target our critical infrastructure, our companies, and our citizens. This Executive Order offers a targeted tool for countering the most significant cyber threats that we face.

Joint Committee Of ESAs To hold Consumer Protection Day 2015
The Joint Committee of the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) is organising the third Joint ESAs Consumer Protection Day on 3 June 2015 in Frankfurt am Main. The event will bring together, from all over Europe, thought leaders of consumer/investor organisations, national regulators, EU institutions, academics and key market participants to discuss consumer protection-related issues in the financial services area.

European Banking Authority Issues Recommendation On Equivalence Of Non-EU Authorities For Participation In Supervisory Colleges
The European Banking Authority (EBA) published today a Recommendation specifying its opinion on the confidentiality regime of several non-EU supervisory authorities to facilitate their participation in supervisory colleges overseeing international banks, led by EU supervisors. The paper looks at the conditions that need to be met in terms of confidentiality requirements and gives an overview of equivalence to EU standards. This work aims to harmonise the application of Art. 116 (6) of the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD) in the composition of supervisory colleges.

Average Daily Volume Of 9.6 Million Contracts At Eurex Group In March - Trading Volumes At Eurex Exchange Grew By 10 Percent In Q1 2015
In March, the international derivatives exchanges of Eurex Group recorded an average daily volume of 9.6 million contracts (March 2014: 9.4 million). Of those, 7.3 million were Eurex Exchange contracts (March 2014: 7.0 million), and 2.3 million contracts (March 2014: 2.4 million) were traded at the U.S.-based International Securities Exchange (ISE). In total, 159.8 million contracts were traded at Eurex Exchange and 50.0 million at the ISE.

ESMA Launches Centralised Data Projects For Mifir And EMIR
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has launched two major projects at the request of a number of National Competent Authorities (NCAs) who have delegated the following tasks to ESMA:
- to provide a central facility in relation to instrument and trading data and the calculation of the MiFIR transparency and liquidity thresholds – Instrument Reference Data Project, and
- to provide a single access point to trade repositories data under EMIR – the Trade Repositories Project.
