Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) and index company FTSE Group (FTSE) today announced the new composition of the FTSE4Good IBEX, following its first review, carried out on September 8th by the FTSE4Good Policy Committee. Following the review of the index constituents no stocks were excluded while 5 new stocks are to be included in the index, bringing its total number of constituents to 32. The 5 new stocks are as follows:
- Abengoa
- Antena 3 Televisión
- Banco Español de Crédito (Banesto)
- Iberia
- SOS Cuétara
Over 40% of the eligible Spanish companies representing over 70% of the eligible universe's market capitalisation now meet the FTSE4Good IBEX environmental and social criteria and are included in the index. This is a higher percentage than the global average and a further sign that Spanish companies continue to embrace higher standards of corporate responsibility.
The new composition of the FTSE4Good IBEX will take effect after the close of business on 19 September.
