FIM is already a member of the Nordic exchange in Helsinki and Stockholm. Jan Ovesen, President of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange, says: ”We are very pleased to see two new Nordic members at the Copenhagen Stock Exchange. It shows that an increasing number of brokers wish to be ready to offer their customers – professional and private – easy access to trading in all shares on our Nordic List, which will be launched on October 2nd.”
FIM was established in 1987. FIM is a Finnish investment group that offers asset management, brokerage and investment services for private persons and organizations. In addition to the head office located in Helsinki FIM has several regional offices. FIM also operates in Stockholm and Moscow. The company’s net sales in 2005 were 63.2 million euros and operating profit 19.1 million euros. FIM employs approximately 260 persons.
OMX has altogether 152 members (excluding 104 members that are members of more than one exchange) of which Stockholm Stock Exchange has 87 members, Helsinki Stock Exchange 52 members, Copenhagen Stock Exchange 55 members, Tallinn Stock Exchange 19 members, Riga Stock Exchange 18 members and Vilnius Stock Exchange 25 members.
