The EPMD will be a practitioners’ forum for identifying industry issues and concerns and crafting industry solutions. It is part of SIFMA’s integrated approach to bring its existing equity focus to Europe.
“The EPMD is a direct response to members’ requests to expand our coverage to new issues of equity and equity-linked securities. This is an important step for SIFMA that underscores the regional importance of Europe in our overall strategy as we strive for more global coordination and coverage,” said Tim Ryan, president & CEO of SIFMA.
Lorraine Charlton, managing director, EPMD said, “This is a very experienced group of business-focused individuals who can identify and define the initiatives that will make a real impact on efficiency and improving best practice in the primary markets. They also have a wealth of collective experience in EMEA, which will be a big focus for us. I’m fortunate in having such a deep resource to draw on as we begin our work.”
“I am honoured to be asked to head up this important group. I’m keen to grow the membership base so that we hear as many different points of view as possible as we roll out these projects and address issues arising across the diverse range of EMEA primary markets,” added John Crompton.
