On August 21, 2013, NYSE Euronext (Euronext) requested accelerated Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) review of its Euronext Amsterdam AEX-Index mini futures contract and its Euronext Paris CAC40 Index mini futures contract so that they may be offered to U.S. persons. Euronext also requested that the contracts may be made available through direct access terminals in the United States.
The CFTC’s Division of Market Oversight reviewed the contracts and determined that they satisfy the requirements of the Commodity Exchange Act (Act) and the Commission’s Regulations. Accordingly, the AEX- Index mini futures contract and the CAC40 Index mini futures are deemed to be in conformance with the Act and therefore may be offered or sold to persons in the U.S. Euronext may make the contracts available for trading through its direct access terminals in the U.S.
