The CICC-SZSE 100ETF (Code: 3051) listed in Hong Kong on Jan .29. Chen Dongzheng, SZSE council chairman, Fang Zheng, chairman of Hong Kong SFC, Xia Jiali, HKEx chairman, Li Xiaojia, HKEx executive president and Li Jiange, CICC chairman, attended the listing ceremony.
Mr. Chen, SZSE council chairman pointed out that in order to serve the innovation country strategy, the SZSE will commit to forging the multi-layered capital market system. And he added that the SZSE 100 index embodies the “multi-layer, high-growth and innovation” characteristics of Shenzhen stock market, and the listing of 100ETF will benefit Hong Kong and global investors to share the China’s Mainland economic growth result.
Cai Fengyi, director of Hong Kong SFC China’s Affairs and Investment Products division, expressed that the listing of CICC-SZSE 100ETF is of very representative significance because the fund is not only the first one listed in Hong Kong tracking Shenzhen-listed A-shares, but also the first overseas ETF issued by a China Mainland financial institution; and at this point, the listing will be a new milestone in the financial cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong, especially between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Mr. Li, HKEx executive president introduced that the HKEx currently has 44 funds including CICC-SZSE 100ETF, and last year, the HKEx reached the new record of 499.7 billion Hong Kong dollars in ETF turnover. Hong Kong will take a further step in the development of ETF market and provide more choices for investors.
CICC chairman, Li Jiange delivered the address, stating that the listing of CICC-SZSE 100ETF will fill in the blank of lacking mid-cap and small-cap growth index fund in the overseas markets, building up the new platform for overseas investors to join in the Mainland capital market, playing the positively impetus role in carrying forward the financial business exchange, the fusion and interaction of capital market between China’s Mainland and Hong Kong.
A-shares ETFS have had the rapid development in Hong Kong with the high popularity in investors. The CICC-SZSE 100ETF kicked off the trading debut in Hong Kong with the opening price of 38.3 Hong Kong dollar per share, the closing price of 38.2 Hong Kong dollar and the daily highest price of 38.7 Hong Kong dollar.
