The International Investor’s participation in public offerings, including IPOs which distribution and closure notice were published up to March 30, was USD 4.0 billion or 76.7% of the total value of offerings (USD 5.3 billion).

Novo Mercado and Levels of Corporate Governance
The IGC (Corporate Governance Index) closed March up 1.8%. It is composed of 104 companies: 53 of Novo Mercado and 51 of Level 1 and 2. These companies now represent 59% of BOVESPA’s total market capitalization, 65% of the total trading value of BOVESPA. In the period, one company joined Novo Mercado: on March 29, JBS had its IPO; and one company joined Level 2 of Corporate Governance: on March 12, Anhanguera Educacional had its IPO.
Investors Groups
The monthly trading turnover was pushed by International Investors, who led transactions with a 34.52% stake against 36.43% in February. Institutional Investors ranked second with 28.85% compared to 26.42% registered in the previous month, followed by Individuals with 24.95% (against 22.13%); Financial Institutions, 10.19% (against 13.37%); Companies, 1.33%, (against 1.5%); and Other Groups with 0.15%, against 0.14% registered in February.
Home Broker Stake
The Home Broker system reached three new records in March: total trading value, with R$10.5 billion or USD 5.6 billion; total number of trades over 1.2 million; and number of registered logins, that reached 97,520. The participation in BOVESPA’s total result reached 7.57% and 23.56% in trade value and volume, accordingly, against 7.07% and 24.96% in February. The system reached daily averages of 55,434 transactions with BRL 477,9 million or USD 253 million financial value traded (against 61,642 trades with BRL 508,9 million or USD 243 million in the previous month). Currently provided by 56 brokerage houses, Home Broker registered an average value of trade of BRL 8,600.

Trading Value
In March, BOVESPA turned over BRL 76.8 billion or USD 36.8 billion compared to BRL 75 billion or USD 35.7 billion in the previous month. The daily average stood at 123,171 trades and BRL 3.5 billion or USD 1.7 billion as financial value traded, while February registered 129,003 trades as average with BRL 4.2 billion or USD 2.0 billion financial value traded. The most active stocks in terms of trading value were: Petrobras PN (BRL 9.22 billion or USD 4.41 billion); Vale R Doce PNA (BRL 8.84 billion or USD 4.23 billion); Bradesco PN (BRL 2.80 billion or USD 1.34 billion); Usiminas PNA (BRL 2.65 billion or USD 1.27 billion); and Vale R Doce ON (BRL 1.96 billion or USD 938 million).
Markets
Cash Market was responsible for 92.8% of the total value registered in March, followed by Options (3.8%) and Forward (3.4%). The After Market amounted to 27,790 trades worth BRL 255,825,839.55 or USD 122,411,945.87 (against 22,061 trades worth BRL 255,684,350.63 or USD 121,868,755.92 registered in the previous month).
Ibovespa
The benchmark Ibovespa broad index closed March up 4.3% at 45,804 points. The best performing stocks in the period were Sid Nacional ON (+19.91%); Sadia S/A PN (+17.34%); Comgás PNA (+15.95%); Brasil T Par ON (+14.11%); and Ipiranga Pet PN (+13.80%), while the worst performing stocks were Natura ON (-11.94%); Tam S/A PN (-10.83%); Vivo PN (-9.14%); Eletropaulo PNB (-8.22%); and Cosan ON (-4.90%).
Other Indices
The following indices also closed the month up: INDX (+5.5% at 7,805 points), IBrX-50 (+4.4% at 6,601 points), IBrX-100 (+4.2% at 14,922 points), ISE (+3.5% at 1,407 points), ITEL (+2.7% at 1,006 points), ITAG (+2.2% at 7,103 points), IEE (+1.8% at 14,011 points), IGC (+1.8% at 5,329 points), and IVBX-2 (+0.5% at 4,678 points).
Market Capitalization
In March, the market capitalization of BOVESPA´s listed companies amounted to BRL 1.63 trillion or USD 797 billion.
Fixed Income
In March, 2 FIDC (Receivable Investment Funds) and 2 CRI (Real State Receivable Certificate) have started to trade on BOVESPA Fix and SOMA Fix Markets. The trading value of BOVESPA fixed income markets turned over BRL 62,899,361.99 or USD 30,166,832,92 (against BRL 15,815,122.03 or USD 7,551,956.20 totaled in previous month). Out of this total, BRL 55,688,639.94 or USD 26,701,100.37 referred to FIDCs, BRL 3,464,982.82 or USD 1,652,791.90 to CRIs (Real Estate Receivable Certificates) and BRL 3,745,739.23 or USD 1,812,940.65 to Corporate Bonds.
BOVESPA Popularization Campaign
Since September/2002, the popularization campaign “BOVESPA Where You Are” has stimulated the creation of 1,500 investment clubs. BOVESPA had a total of 1,739 clubs registered as of March 30. According to last data available (February/07), the investment clubs’ total assets amount to BRL 9.8 billion, with 134,087 investors.
