IDEM, the equity derivatives market of Borsa Italiana, has today broadened its offering, launching new futures on the dividends of single European blue-chip stocks.
The new product has been launched in response to investors demand for trading the expected dividends of 23 major listed European issuers.
Nicolas Bertrand, Head of Equity and Derivatives Markets at London Stock Exchange Group, said:
“The ‘Pan-European Single Stock Dividend Future’ is an innovative product launched on the IDEM market that allows intermediaries and investors to hedge their dividend risk on the main issuers across Europe. It also broadens the range of products available on the IDEM market, providing investors with further trading and hedging opportunities. The competitive pricing and the clearing services provided by CC&G make these new financial instruments particularly attractive and efficient”.
BNP Paribas Arbitrage, Optiver and Société Générale are partnering the initiative as Primary Market Makers supporting liquidity.
The dividend futures contracts will initially cover the ordinary shares of the following companies: Assicurazioni Generali, Enel, Eni, Intesa Sanpaolo, Telecom Italia, UniCredit (Italy); Anheuser-Busch InBev (Belgium); Axa, BNP, France Télécom, GDF Suez, Sanofi-Aventis, Société Générale, Total, Vivendi (France); Banco Santander, Telefónica (Spain); Daimler, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, E.ON, Siemens (Germany); Arcelormittal (Luxembourg).
In order to support the product launch, trading and clearing fees will be fully waived until 30 June 2013.
