In order to reduce the sectoral concentration of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE), BM&FBOVESPA has announced the following change to the ISE calculation methodology: The current 25% concentration limit per individual company will be replaced by a 15% concentration limit per individual sector. At an opportune time BM&FBOVESPA will announce simulations based on the current portfolio to enable the market participants to better visualize the impacts of this new 15% sectoral limit. This change will apply to the next portfolio, which will become effective as of December 1, 2009.
More thorough report
There will also be a change in the evaluation process of the companies that
answer the base questionnaire. After the new portfolio is announced, the Center
for Sustainability Studies, at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), will provide
the respondent companies with a report containing their scores based on
dimension and criteria, the average score and the benchmark. The new report will
be more thorough and will extend their evaluation up to the indicator level,
thus providing more details about each company’s situation in relation to the
questions analyzed in the ISE process.
Questionnaire available on July 15
The final version of the ISE base questionnaire, elaborated by FGV’s Center
for Sustainability Studies, is now available for consultation at http://www.bovespa.com.br/pdf/ISE_Questionario2009.pdf.
This document has been approved by the ISE Deliberative Board after being
submitted for public consultation with the purpose of enhancing and adapting its
content to the most current levels of discussion and reference regarding
sustainability.
